ACT’s Assessment System Starts Early

According to a recent report released by the ACT, 60 percent of all 2012 graduates met no more than two out of four college readiness standards in English, math, reading and science (these standards indicate that a student has a 75 percent chance of earning a C or higher, or a 50 percent chance of earning a B or higher in a typical first-year college course). To address the lack of college readiness indicated by these statistics, ACT has announced plans for a new “next generation” assessment system, aimed at early elementary through high school students. Find out how this system will help ensure more students graduate from high school prepared to enter college.
